Jesus was not known for...
Jesus was not known for His agreeing with the Jewish religious
system or its ritual practices and He was viewed as a radical by the
religious pharisees. Why? Because His goal was to bring people into a
relationship with His Father, not with a dysfunctional, self-righteous
religious system.
This did not sit well with
the self-appointed, self-guided, self-anointed, man-confided gatekeepers
of religious tradition who believed that if anyone wanted a
relationship with God it would be through their religious system. In
their religious elitist opinion, they alone were spiritual enough to
understand "doctrine" and the mind of God for the less spiritual
pew-warmers. People who did not agree with the narrow mindedness of
their narrow minded religious beliefs and their narrow minded biblical
interpretation's were not in relationship with God and were called
heretics bound for hell as far as they were concerned.
Mmmm, does not this sound like religion's way today?
