Let Christ be Preeminent in His Church In these days there is cause for much dismay within the ranks of Institutional Christianity over the state of division, disunity and separation among the believers. Most all are willing to cry out against this despicable condition, seemingly sharing their grief, concern and vision for God's true church to become one. But sad to say, few are willing to pay the price necessary to make this vision a reality. God is not after an external unity, but rather, an organic unity, one that is characterized by the partaking of the fullness of Christ's life. Many Christians assume, for example, that the most important thing in choosing a church is its minister, that a church cannot function effectively without the office priest or pastor being filled, that the first thing one must do in starting a church is to hire a minister to lead it, that Sunday morning should be judged by its sermon, and that the preeminent way to serve God is to go to seminary to be trained for Christian service.
