How much are you loved by God?
Does God love you as much as He loves Jesus? The answer is a RESOUNDING YES!
"Really...God loves me as much as He loves Jesus?...Come on Regular, you have done gone and lost all your marbles."
People, such is His Love and Amazing Grace.
Read the words of Jesus..."I do not ask in behalf of these (the apostles) alone, but for those who believe in Me through their word (that's you and I).... What was His reason for this prayer? "that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, AND didst LOVE THEM, EVEN AS THOU DIDST LOVE ME (John 17:20). It cannot be any plainer than that, you are BELOVED by God as much as Jesus was and is.
That realization ought to destroy all the God fears that religious tradition has you fearing. God is not out to get you, He is not out to hurt you, He is not out to punish you, He is not dangling you over the fires of hell like a spider on a web waiting for you to sin so he can shake you off. He is out to LOVE YOU because of His Amazing Grace.
What if we would begin to live our life living with the understanding that God loves us as much as He loves Jesus? Now Get this...What if we would pray with the assurance that God Loves us as much as He loves Jesus? Would we experience answers to our prayers?
Knowing that God loves us as much as He loves Jesus should end all our endeavors to gain righteousness by meeting the requirements of the law! In fact the only obedience that God recognizes is obedience in response to His LOVE, showered upon us by His GRACE. Self-righteous righteousness is no righteousness at all.
With this understanding, the love chapter in the bible...1 Cor.13...is first, not so much of what God expect of me...it is first of all, a description of ALL THAT GOD IS TOWARD ME! Now that should set your feet a dancing!
This love God has for us that we are to shower on others, is
available to us solely because of His Grace and His Spirit working through His imputed Grace to us. It has nothing to do with our doing the do's and not doing the don'ts of the law.
GOD LOVES YOU AS MUCH AS HE LOVES JESUS...LIVE LIKE IT!
