Scriptural Knowledge.

Head knowledge of scripture may be good but being good does not mean that there is nothing better. Trying to live life by our informed Bible knowledge stored in the head will lead to a life of disappointment, discouragement and discontentment because life is not in found in head knowledge of the word (bible), life is in the Word (Jesus).

Come on now Regular, aren't preachers and "lay people" suppose to teach that their thinking, preaching and decision making are based on their knowledge of scripture?

Yes, but it's not quite the total picture of what we need to demonstrate. We are not called merely to demonstrate our knowledge of God, but to demonstrate the life of God as He lives His life through us. John 5: 39 and 40...Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. To be head "informed" by scripture, then to use the Bible as another external source from which to gain "knowledge is certainly not God's desire, nor the intent of the bible.

The Apostle Paul gave meaning to God's purpose when writing to the Galatians: "Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives," Galatians 4:19. The purpose Paul gives isn't one of a person simply being "informed" by scripture. Rather, it's of one where the Living Word of God (Jesus) fully envelops the believers life, and is fully formed within the believer, or as Paul put it, "until Christ is fully developed in your lives."

INFORMATION taken into the mind does not result in a life's TRANSFORMATION! To have "INFORMATION" about the word of God is to have some knowledge which we may---or may not---use, or use correctly; but to have the Living Word of God fully "formed" within us is to experience TRANSFORMATION. We need more than simply be INFORMED by the word, we need to be FORMED and TRANSFORMED by the WORD, "JESUS".
