Are Sinners in the hands of a Angry God?

The vast majority of people in the world have not placed their trust and confidence in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. What keeps them a sinner is not what the self-righteous doers and don’ters  of the law consider the big sins. They are sinners because of only one sin, the sin that was not taken care of by Jesus on the cross!

Already I can feel the heretic chargers coming my way by the moral police of the religious world. “He is a false prophet”. “He is a cancer in the Body of Christ that needs eradication.” “He is the deceived of the deceived.”

God has reconciled every person in the world unto Himself through His Son Jesus. On the cross the sins of humanity were forgiven and the grace of God was extended to all of mankind!

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to ALL men. (Tit. 2:11 emphasis mine)

...that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. (2 Cor. 5:19)

Wait a minute...you mean to tell me that God is not laying charge against the people of the world the sin they commit. Yes, because Jesus bore the penalty for all sin, past, present and future, such was His accomplishment on the cross.

The only sin that Jesus did not die for on the cross is the sin of UNBELIEF.

Contrary to what religion has told us, God is not angry with, nor does He hate sinners, for “while we were yet sinners Christ died for us”, that my friend is the ultimate proof of His love for sinners. He came because of sinners not because of the self-righteousness of the religious.

However, to experience the grace and love that Christ has already provided for every sinner we have to put our trust in God’s offer of salvation by grace to establish a relationship with Him.

The judgment for our sin was borne by Jesus on the cross, Jesus reconciled the people of the world to God and the provision for salvation of every person is provided for even though they may not accept it.

Because of the punishment that Jesus endured because of our sin, the good news is that God is not in the punishment business because of His anger toward sin anymore, Jesus bore the price for the sin of humanity. Today God is extending His goodness towards sinners and saints because He wants them to see that He is good and that He loves them. It is the goodness of God that leads people to repentance, not the fear of punishment.

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Rom 2:4 NKJV)

Believers that is why unbelievers are not enemies of God, nor should they be our enemies, in fact we should go all out to befriend them because, if God loves them, and we have the love of God, then how can we not love them. Our responsibility as believers is to show them the love of God, not judge or condemn them to hell by passing the sentence of hell on them.

If sinner and saint alike continue in unbelief they willingly reject this offer of peace and grace from God and in the process trample the blood of Jesus underneath their feet and their hearts will become more and more hardened.

Believers who misrepresent God as being a harsh God demand that if unbelievers want to join the church, they have to start obeying countless laws, as well they had better make sure they change their lifestyle before the become a part of the church.

Should we not show unbelievers the kind of love that God showed us when we first came to Christ: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8 NKJV)

None of us deserves God’s love in the first place, why then should we try to make others feel that they have to measure up to some perfect standard in order to be accepted by God  or loved by us?

People...ALL people including sinners are in the hands of a LOVING God!

  1. Glenn, if you mean what the following quote is saying to me, I believe that you should rethink that statement.

You said:"The only sin that Jesus did not die for on the cross is the sin of UNBELIEF.'

This is just the opposite of what I believe. The sin of unbelief is exactly what I believe that Jesus died for.

The sin of unbelief of God's word is what the first man Adam committed. Adam saw that Eve didn't die when she ate of the fruit, so in his unbelief he ate it also thinking that he wouldn't die.

That sin of unbelief was passed down from Adam to all generations of the World and we are all born with the sin of unbelief in out hearts.

Now just think about it. Does a newborn baby believe in God? Absolutely not. Until every person turns from the state of unbelief to believing the Gospel of Christ they will not be saved. The gospel of Christ, that He was to die on the cross for the sin of unbelief was what it was all about.

I know that all the churches preach about repenting of all your sins (plural) and Jesus died for the atonement of those sins (plural), but that is bloney. The word translated from Greek to English should not have been translated to sins (plural)in most of the cases.

Because of the poor understanding by most if not all bible teachers concerning sin and sins, leads to nothing but false teaching and without a doubt was the cause of the quote that I addressed.

    1. Ron,

All of our sins past, present and future were forgiven by Christ on the cross in the sense that we do not have to ask forgiveness for them. But the sin of unbelief, "The unforgivable sin" as long as we remain in it is not forgivable. When we ask for forgiveness of the sin of unbelief we are then forgiven of it. That is the sense it was not forgiven on the cross.
