The Path You Travel.

When the self-righteous believe their understanding of the Bible is the correct understanding they consign themselves to judging other people's understanding as misunderstanding, all their  judging narrows the vision of God and his purpose for the community of the redeemed.

The path of self-righteousness is one hundred and eighty degrees out of phase with the path of righteousness though  both are paved with love.

The path of self-righteousness is paved with the love of self and tarred with arrogance and narrow-mindedness. “My way is right because it is anchored in the rock of orthodox traditional understanding of the Bible that 'great men' of God has taught us...therefore, your way is wrong because it goes against orthodoxy.”

The path of righteousness is paved with love for God and love for humanity and is tarred with humility and open mindedness. Jesus is the lens we should interpret the Bible through, the God-man who came to reveal His Father to us so we can rightfully reveal Him to the community of humanity as His community of the redeemed.

If our interpretation does not line up with Jesus' view...orthodoxy or not, it is the wrong interpretation.

Which path are you travelling on?
