The Do's and Don'ts of the Bible.

There is no doubt that the Bible has lots of do's and don'ts, commands, demands, rules and rituals. But they were never meant to produce man-made-doctrines, denominated denominations, segregated buildings called the "House of the Lord" to house the different denominations, nor are they meant to determine a person's spirituality or dedication to God based on their performance in keeping the laws and obeying the rules even though the the religious denominational world is based, built and operates on such thinking. Such use of the Bible is misuse and abuse and hinders the work of God in and through His Community of the Redeemed in the Community of Humanity.

Treated in its proper context the rules, demands and commands of the scripture reveal our inability to gain or maintain a relationship with God while pointing us to Jesus Christ in order to know the character of His Father God. After the law leads us to recognize God’s character and our inability to keep the demands and commands obey the do's and don'ts in-and-of ourselves, its purpose is to help us recognize our desperate need for someone who has kept God’s law to mediate between us and Him. This is the purpose for which God designed the law in the beginning. Paul explains, “...the  supervision of the law” (Galatians 3:24-25). From the very beginning, God intended that the law would expose our inability to keep from sinning, and lead us to Christ the one and only Law Keeper, as the remedy for our sin and by His Grace empower us to live righteously.

We need, therefore, to reject “biblical preaching and teaching” that is only about doing the do's and not doing the don'ts and how we are suppose to obey the rules of religion and conduct ourselves in the Sunday-go-meetings. Biblical teaching and preaching is such that proclaim Jesus’ person, His  finished work on the cross and His resurrection to live the Grace life in our daily living.

The Bible rightly handled and respected is God's revelation of Himself to mankind...not God's Rulebook of do's and don'ts to strive to obey to prove we are in relationship with Him.
